Welcome to this newsletter written as we enter unknown territory on the political front.
Liz Truss is now our Prime Minister with new ideas. We will have to be very vigilant to ensure that our Civil Service pensions are increased by CPI which is likely to be about 10%. Also, that the triple lock is reinstated on State Pensions.
September Meeting
Our meeting will be held on Tuesday 20th September commencing at 2pm. in Room 3, Victoria Hall, Sheepcote Road Harrow. It is next to Greenhill Church. The forbidding gates at both ends of the complex do open easily allowing you access.
It will be a two-part meeting. First our guest speaker Dr. David Owen our Greater London representative on the National Executive will give us an insight into current Alliance thinking especially with the new government.
The second part will be mandating our delegate, Alan Blann, on the motions to be discussed at the National AGM. Committee recommendations will be available at the meeting, and you can raise any recommendation you do not agree with or any other Issue. The latest Pensioner will carry all the motions and if there are any you would particularly like to discuss it would be useful to let me know bye mail or phone before the meeting It would be useful to follow the discussions if you brought with you the Autumn 2022 issue of the Pensioner
December Meeting
We are continuing our practice of not having a meeting but going to a restaurant for a festive lunch. The date is 6th December. As yet we have not booked the venue and so if, provisionally, you would like to attend please let me know by email or phone. Once details are finalised, I can contact you with details and you can make a final decision.
