The Group has held three meetings so far this year, picking up that Covid restrictions have been eased, and we are now arranging further meeting for this Autumn. Two meetings are concerned with the National Annual General Meeting taking place in October, and between them we will hold a slide show – hopefully a reminder of holidays resuming.
Our Committee wish to encourage as many members as possible to attend these meetings, to confirm that the Group remains viable into the future. Additionally, we seek to bolster our Committee with new ideas and expertise from more members as we seek to refocus the Group.
The dates of the forthcoming meetings are on the following Tuesday afternoons: 13 September; 11 October; and 8 November.
The first date will include mandating our Group delegate for the National Annual General Meeting, by considering and discussing the motions for that meeting, which are published with the new issue of The Pensioner magazine. This is an opportunity to understand and influence the national approach of the Alliance in its priorities, policies and campaigning.
Our October meeting will consist of a slide show of pictures from a river cruise of the Rhine, including views of and from the river and the towns and cities lining an attractive area of its banks, including Strasbourg and Cologne.
In November we shall have a report back from our delegate at the National Annual General Meeting and an opportunity to discuss what topics you would like to see covered in the future.
All meetings will take place in the rooms of West Park United Reform Church, accessed from the front of the Church on West Park in Harrogate, and will begin with refreshments at 2.15pm; a charge of £3.50 per person helps to cover costs.
