Lisa Ray shares her last update as General Secretary of CSPA.
I hope that you are well and enjoying some summer sunshine. The view from the office is bright, sunny and warm today.
This is sadly my last update as I will be leaving my General Secretary role in a few days. It has been an honour to represent you and campaign on your behalf, but it now feels that the time is right to move on.
I will miss CSPA, especially my colleagues who have worked so hard to improve the offer to members, and to attract new people to join us. I also take with me some good memories of great people, on the Executive Council, those who run groups, support campaigns and participate in CSPA activities.
I am delighted to share with you that my successor has now been appointed and she will take over from 7 August. Sally Tsoukaris has been working with us for some time and knows CSPA well. Her experience in previous roles over her career mean that she is well qualified to take CSPA from strength to strength!
In the interim, David Luxton, DGS, will be Acting General Secretary to ensure preparations for the upcoming Annual General Meeting 2023 continue smoothly.
As a result of these changes, we are also advertising a number of roles at the HQ office these can be found at www.cspa.co.uk
Our vision has always been to “protect what you have earned” especially the value of the civil service pension, but we have also built strong partnerships with other older people’s organisations to campaign on wider issues affecting our members. Most recently we have been part of a large coalition to push government to appoint an independent commissioner for older people.
Independent Age are leading the charge and you can support their campaign here. Sign it, share it, and help them reach at least 10,000 signatures over the summer.
