Update from Independent Age
An update from Independent Age on their upcoming Parlimentary event
This winter, we know that lots of older people in financial hardship are having an incredibly difficult time. We’ve heard from countless older people who are avoiding turning the heating on even in freezing temperatures, not turning the lights on, and not eating hot meals.
It’s time for the UK Government to take action. That’s why we’re holding an event in Parliament, where your MP can hear about the experiences of older people in poverty and about the changes we need to end pensioner poverty for good.
Will you invite your MP to our event and encourage them to stand up for older people in poverty?
Ask your MP to attend
With recent cuts to the Winter Fuel Payment, rising household bills, and too many older people not getting the support they need, it’s more important than ever that decision makers understand the issues older people on a low income are facing.
By inviting your MP to our Parliamentary event, we can push pensioner poverty to the top of the political agenda and ensure that decision makers commit to taking concrete action to tackle poverty in later life.
