The Civil Service Pensioners Alliance (CSPA) is seeking a new Personal Assistant/Administration Role to take up post, ideally in early August 2023. This role represents an attractive opportunity to be involved with improving the CSPA as we implement changes designed to attract new recruits to our membership organisation and improve our service to existing members.

The CSPA aim is to maximise the benefits of the Civil Service Pension and to promote a better later life for all pensioners.

The CSPA campaigns with partner organisations, on matters of direct interest to the wider community of older people, such as Pensions, Health & Social Care, Transport, Social Exclusion, Housing and Intergenerational Fairness. We also provide bespoke services & benefits for our members. The Alliance is uniquely recognised by the Cabinet Office as representing those in receipt of a Civil Service Pension and we meet with the Cabinet Office regularly to ensure our members’ interests are represented and protected.

The PA/Administration Role will support the General Secretary, Deputy General Secretary, National Treasurer and Policy, Projects & Campaigns Manager on office diary management, meeting bookings and arrangements, formatting and circulating papers to the Executive Council and Local Group contacts. The Postholder will also be responsible for dealing with first-line members’ enquiries by telephone, through the website and via the general enquiries’ inbox. The role also supports Group Committee members from time to time, assists the GS and DGS in updating the website and social media accounts (Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook), and provides occasional cover for minuting Executive Council meetings, as well as assisting the Office Manager.

The new Postholder will join a small, but dedicated, team, based at the CSPA HQ in Croydon. The position is full-time, with a starting salary of £33,000 pa, with six weeks paid annual leave allowance, excluding public holidays. CSPA will accommodate one day a week working from home, provided sufficient office cover can be arranged.
